Music, song, dance and characteristic costumes for this region are known all over the world. It represents the essence of the joy of locals and visitors. The four seasons that change in the rhythm of the sun and snow emphasize the beauty of the municipality of Bosilegrad, which is experienced at every step.

According to one legend, the present region of Krajiste (Bosilegrad region) was under the rule of a duke: King Bus or Busil and King Brankovski. The fortification of King Bus was on the site of Gradište, about one kilometer from Bosilegrad, while King Brankovski had a fortification about 15 kilometers southwest. When the Turks conquered the Kyustendil region, the two dukes held on for a long time, due to the configuration of the mountainous terrain. Soon the Turks conquered them as well. King Brankovski was conquered first, while Busil’s fortification was much stronger and resisted attacks. The high walls of the fortress, the dense forest and the steep cliffs around it did not allow the Turks to approach it. Then they used cunning, forcing King Brankovski to send a message to King Busil to leave the fortress, since there were no more Turks, to go to communion in the church of St. Spasa near the village of Rajchilovci. When leaving, King Bus ordered his men to close the fortress and to guard it well. However, when he arrived at the church, the Turks captured and killed him, together with King Brankovski.
